Experience Sharing Seminar: “The New Information Technology in Education”
The
Central Management Committee for Diocesan Schools held an experience-sharing
seminar at St. Francis of Assisi’s English Primary School on 17th
May 2008. Around 120 school heads and
teachers participated in the event.
Ms.
In the second session, Ms. Hung Mei Wah and Ms. Ng
Ka Wah, teachers of St. Andrew’s
Catholic Primary School, shared their
ideas by introducing the “e-learning Interactive
Platform”. Through
the online platform of their school, they brought out the idea that by using a
learning platform on the net, teachers could cope with individual differences
and promote the self-learning spirit of students. They
reminded teachers to organize diversified
teaching activities for students, instead of familiarizing them with the
application skills of IT only.
At the end of the
sessions, Mr. Lau Pak Ling, Principal of St. Joan of Arc Secondary School,
delivered a vote of thanks and concluding remarks. Ms.
Li Yuet Sheung, Principal of St. James Catholic Kindergarten, led the closing
prayer.
The participants were all deeply impressed with the way online resources could enlighten teaching. In this modern era of technology, teachers and administrative staff should raise teaching effectiveness by means of utilizing IT. Teachers should become role models of students to establish correct attitudes in using IT.
