Catholic Education Office and HKIEd Sign third Agreement for Collaboration
?
選派香港教育學院講師於天主教香港教區屬下學校,包括幼稚園、小學及中學短期任教;
?
加強雙方在香港教育學院學員教學體驗計劃內的協作;
?
發掘及提供在天主教學校進行研究的機會;
?
The
Catholic Education Office (CEO) and The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd)
extend their collaborative partnership by signing a five-year agreement on 11
November 2003. The agreement is designed to ensure a sharing and supportive
relationship between the two parties for quality teacher education and bringing
benefits to local Catholic schools.
The
agreement was signed by Ms Alice Woo Lo-ming, Episcopal Delegate for Education
of the HK Catholic Diocese and Professor Paul Morris, President of the
HKIEd.
This
is the third collaborative agreement between the CEO and
the HKIEd since 1997. The agreement encompasses collaboration in a number of areas,
such as:-
?
Attachment of selected HKIEd staff in Catholic
schools in Hong Kong under the Sponsoring Body of “The Catholic Diocese of
Hong Kong”;
?
Enhanced cooperation in the operation of field
experience for HKIEd students;
?
Opportunities for research in Catholic schools;
?
Provision of teacher development and
consultancy services to Catholic schools; and
?
Organisation of joint conferences, seminars and
academic meetings between the two parties.
Over
the past six years, HKIEd and CEO have joined hands to develop various mutually
beneficial exchange projects, such as the “Lecturer Attachment Scheme”.
The scheme, which enabled HKIEd’s teaching staff to refresh their
teaching experience and provide consultancy services and professional support to
the Catholic schools, has been expanded to other schools.
There
has been cooperation in other fields as well. While
HKIEd students were allowed to be placed for field experience in CEO schools,
the Catholic school principals were the first to joined HKIEd’s “Honorary
Interviewers Scheme” which was designed to enhance the effectiveness of the
Institute’s admission interviews. The
close relations with the CEO have enable the HKIEd to experiment many innovative
teaching and mentoring programmes such as the “Partnership School Scheme”,
the “Progressive & Innovative Primary School Project”, and the
“Secondary Teaching Evaluation and Mentoring Project”.
